Bournemouth & Poole Repair Café

We are a community-led project focused on fixing things together. From electronics and textiles to furniture and toys, our volunteers help you breathe new life into your cherished items. We've saved over 500 items from landfill this year alone, fostering skills and friendship along the way.

How it works: Bring your broken item to an event, sit with a repairer, and learn how to fix it. It's free to visit, though donations are welcome!

Contact: reach out at transitionbournemouth@gmail.com for event updates and volunteer opportunities.

What we do

The Bournemouth & Poole Repair Café brings the community together to share skills and reduce waste. Our volunteers provide their expertise and time to help you fix your broken items, from electronics to textiles, ensuring they stay out of landfills and in your homes.

Repair Workshops

Join our monthly sessions where we fix small appliances, furniture, and bicycles. Learn the tools of the trade while giving your items a second chance.

Skill Sharing

Our expert volunteers guide you through the repair process, empowering you with the knowledge to maintain and repair your own belongings in the future.

Electronics & Appliances

Help troubleshoot and fix household electronics, from vintage radios to modern kitchen appliances, reducing e-waste one device at a time.

Textiles & Clothing

Put your sewing skills to use. From patching favorite jeans to mending delicate fabrics, help others extend the life of their wardrobe.

Furniture & Woodwork

Help fix loose chair legs, sand surfaces, or repair wooden toys. Simple structural fixes can save furniture from being discarded needlessly.

Events & Greeting

Not a fixer? We need warm smiles to welcome visitors, manage registrations, and serve tea while repairs are underway. Help keep our café running smoothly.
